More work is need if we want to get GF installed on older versions. Versions before Ubuntu 22.04
One way to install the needed newer C++runtime for GF comes by installing an extra C++ compiler.
This can be done in a way that newer compiler will not disturb system. To be more precise it's g++-11.
install_g++11.sh is for convenience only. I tested it on Ubuntu 18.04.
But anyway - same like GF - we cannot give warranty that everything work like expected.
If you really know how to install a C++17-runtime only on an older system please let me know.
Anyway by installing g++17 you get it all. Take a look at the script - 6 lines. After executing it does not replace previous compiler.
But you could use 'update-alternatives' to do so.
