Technically "gf" is based on ideas of linux' grep , find , locate and regex .

Generic Finder can be seen as a set of find and view tools combined in a Read-Only-File-Browser.
The program does not modify your file system - expect some hundred bytes for settings of the program itself.

Actually "gf" comes with English User Interface - Other languages are in the pipeline
